Obama’s Buildings to be Upgraded
I found this article on Federal Times.com that is very interesting. President Obama has outline what building will be upgraded and how much money will be spent.
Hundreds of federal buildings across the country will be going green in the next year or two under the General Services Administration’s plans for spending more than $5.5 billion in stimulus funds.
GSA gave preference to energy savings projects that would:
• Improve the energy performance of the building’s electrical and mechanical systems, a process called recommissioning.
• Install lighting controls and sensors.
• Replace or improve the performance of heating and air conditioning systems.
• Generate renewable energy using solar or wind power.
• Conserve water.
This is a huge step to promote more jobs and to move the Government buildings in to a Greener light.
